DOVETAIL CAMERA HANDLE - DCH - $725 CDN

There are many occasions where operating the camera by the battery is ideal. Although convenient, this cinematographic methodology can bring with it concerns over strain on the battery mount.

Our Dovetail Camera Handle aims to address this concern while offering a fast, rigid, and versatile control point that requires no tools to install or remove, and can be added to the last available bit of space at the end of a dovetail plate.

The 6061 aluminum handle is finished with a 2-step black anodizing (2-step anodizing is UV protected and will not fade over time in sunlight), with red accents for an elegant touch of colour.

Quickly added to a built camera, the Dovetail Camera Handle will also clear any extra-long lens rods that may be in play.

The grip can be mounted upright, inverted, or sideways. A notched post base ensures that the grip will not unscrew during operation.

All fasteners in the Dovetail Camera Handle are black oxide coated stainless steel, so even the wettest environment won't cause any issues with rust or seizing.

Although it's not likely to come up too often, the grip can also be mounted sideways for those "right flat against the ground" situations.

Mounting holes have been added down the length of the handle to ensure that the grip can end up wherever you might want it.

A brass wedge holds the handle firmly in place with the lock lever. We've also incorporated a pair of springs between the wedge and the handle body to not only keep the wedge clear during installation, but they also keep the lock lever in place when in the open position.

Not all dovetail plates are created equal. We've found that there can be some variation from one plate to the next, so we've used a 12-point 1/4-20 bolt to mount the lock lever to. Should you find yourself with a much thicker or thinner plate, simply unscrew the lock lever from the 1/4-20 bolt, and advance or delay the timing to acheive the ideal lock point.
