WAVE TO MDR4 TO VOLT MOUNTING PLATE - W2MDRV - $750 CDN

What you're looking at here is the Wave To MDR4 To Volt Mounting Plate (W2MDRV). Likely, this isn't something that you'll need if you're 99% of Steadicam operators out there.

If however, you are one of the extremely few who have opted to use their Betz-Tools Wave in conjunction with a Tiffen Steadicam Volt system, you'll be delighted to discover that this bracket exists.

Internally named the "Heathplate", this bracket was requested by and developed with Mike Heathcote, Camera/Steadicam operator, who is now using just such a configuration.

The plate adds a mere 5mm (3/16") to the bottom of the Wave, keeping the profile of the bracket low.

In order to achieve the ultimate balance between strength and weight, support ridges have been added to keep things solid and level. Being that this plate is intended to firmly lock 2 different sources of horizon sensing, it is imperative that there be no flex.

The Wave mounts to the "Heathplate" with slots, allowing for a total of 35mm (1 1/4") of fore/aft positionability.

Represented in this rudimentary CAD model, you can see how the plate is used in conjunction with the Wave, MDR4 and Volt.

The W2MDRV is intended to be used alongside the Rocket Surgery Solutions MDR3/4 Volt Pro Bracket to mount the Volt control box to the MDR4.

Although sold individually, the W2MDRV is available as a kit, paired with the MDR3/4 Volt Pro Bracket.

Kit price is $900 CDN.

The "Heathplate" comes with all necessary hardware to mount the Wave to the MDR4. The kit also comes with all necessary hardware to mount the MDR4 or an MDR3 to the Volt control box.
